JEFFERSON COUNTY AND CIRCUIT, SCT.

January Term of the Jefferson Circuit Court, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-one

The Jurors of the Grand Jury, impannelled and sworn to inquire in and for the body of the County of Jefferson, in the name and by the authority of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, on their oath, present that William Shriver late of said County, Laborer on the Third day of December in the year eighteen hundred and sixty-[ ] in the said County of Jefferson, and State of Kentucky, with force and arms having in his possession a certain Bill of Exchange, which Bill of Exchange is as follows, that is to say $600.00 Wheeling VaDecr 3^d 1860 — At sight pay to the order of W^m Shriver, Six hundred dollars. Merchants & Mechanic's Bank Value received & charge account, yours truly.

He the said William Shriver, afterwards towit on the day & year last aforesaid, at the Circuit aforesaid, in the County aforesaid, feloniously did forge on the back of the said last mentioned Bill of Exchange a certain endorsement of the said Bill of Exchange which said forge endorsement is as follows, that is to say "Hampden Zane" with intent to defraud Curtis & Warren. ~~of the goods and chattels of [ ] then and there being and found, feloniously did steal, take, and carry away~~, contrary to the form of the Statute, in that case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:
