To his Excellency the Govenor of K.y
At the August term of the Bracken Circuit CourtGeorge S. Kimberly was found guilty of permitting gameing in his house in Foster Bracken County and was fined Two Hundred Dollars We the citizens of Foster and vicinity would respectfully State that we have known Mr Kimberly for Several years ever Since his residence amongst us and believe there is no man who Stands higher among his Neighbors and acquaintances for integrity Industry and good citizenship. and we believe, the House where the gameing occured although owned by him" wasunderthecontrol and in the occupation of a man by the name of McGill, They State that the proof before the Jury was conflicting upon this point, and we believe Satisfactory (or at least ought to have been so) that he was not atthetime the offense was committed the occupant or had the control of the House, They Know he could have adduced fromhisNeighbors an abundance of proof to have established his Innocence but his inexperience was the cause of his not being more fully prepared Mr Kimberly is a poor man and a mechanic, who we take pleasure in saying always bore a good moral and exemplary character,, we are fully aware of our deep Interest in the preservation of the morals of the community where welive and in view of that fact believing with out a doubt that Kimberly is innocent we respectfully but earnestly ask your intervention in his behalf, we believe it eminently a case demanding executive clemency we have too lively an Interest in the welfare and morals
of our children and Neighbors to ask your Excellency to Interfere infavor of a man whose guilt of such a charge was even doubtful all of which we respectfully submit
