Commonwealth agst. Geo Oakes No 770 Indicted

Came the parties and Deft. plead not Guilty thereupon came a Jury viz. H M^cDonald. W Martin. A Craig, John O Donnell, W Maloney, F M Royers, J C Wilson, A Dearing, Sam Eggelston W. L. Shrock. H Crout, and C Hancock, who being duly sworn well and truly to try the issue after hearing the evidence returned the following verdict. We the Jury find the Defendant Guilty as charged in the Indictment and fix his fine at $200. John O Donnell, foreman, Wherefore. it is adjudged. that Defendant make his fine to the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the sum of $200, and his costs herein expended,

The attachment against Ellidon Davis absent witness herein is discharged of his costs

against } Indictment for Suffering gaming in his house
George. Oakes. Deft.

The Grand Jury of Kenton County in the name and by the authority of the Commonwealth of Kentucky accuse George Oakes of the offence of suffering gaming in his house committed as follows viz,
The said George Oakes in the County Circuit and State aforesaid on the [...] day of September 1863 and on divers other days and times before and since that time and before the finding of this Indictment did then and there suffer divers persons to play games of cards and other games in a house in his occupation and under his control at which said games money and property was then and there won and lost, contrary to the statute in such case made and provided and against the peace and dignity of the Commonwealth of Kentucky,
