To his Excellency Thomas E Bramlette Govr of Kentucky.
Your petitioners John D Hale & William Chambers would respectfully state that at the clerks office against said John Rice for Sixty dollars and Costs and on the same day said execution was delivered to the sheriff of Mercer County and on the which A Copy of said ^Judgment^ replevin bond and execution is enclosed herewith. your petitioners further state that sence they signed said replevin bond as surities of said John Rice he said John Rice. joined and inlested in the Thirtyfifth ^M.T. inf^ Kentucky regiment and is now has ever sence been in the service of the Unitedstates Army and still is in said service. Your petitioners further State that the said John Rice is a poor man. That they have paid the sheriff and
Clerk their fees and have paid the Commonwealths Attorney his part of said fine of $60.
Your petitioners further state that unless your excellency interposes your executive clemency they will have to pay the balance of said execution as the Sheriff has the same in his hands & called your petitioners to pay The same. Wherefore in Consideration of the premises; your petitioners ask your excellancy to remit So much of said Sixty dollar fine as may belong to and going to the Commonwealth of Kentucky
