The undersigned citizens of Hopkinsville would respectfully represent that at the present term of the Christian Circuit Court, Wm Hurt formerly of this place, but now resident in Russellville Ky, being indicted for the offense of keeping a gaming house, Came into Court & Confessed Judgment plead guilty whereupon the jury returned a verdict fixing his punishment at a fine of two hundred dollars
Mr Hurt has always been esteemed a quiet peacable & law-abiding citizens & we respectfully ask your excellency to remit so much all of said fine except the Atto's fee & cost.
