Maysville Ky.
To his Excellency Thomas E. Bramlette
Governor of Kentucky.
Some time ago, a man by the name of Ruggles and I played a game at cards at a Saloon kept by Thomas J. Farley, who was regularly authorized by the City to retail liquors &c.
Ruggles throughspite informed on us, and I was fined $40. — and replevied the debt, which is now due, I am poor and my surety will have it to pay, without your Excellency's interposition
Very Respectfully
Robert G. Leak
We respectfully request your Excellency to remit the fine imposed upon Mr. Leak, as we think it altogether unjust.
