To the Sheriff of Marion County

You are commanded to summon Mary Carter Executrix of Thomas Carter decdased to appear in the Marion Circuit Court on the 1st day of its next June term to show Cause why Judgment shall not be rendered against her for one thousand dollars on account of the forfeiture of the recognizance entered into by said Thomas Carter at the November Term 1863 of said Court for the appearance of John Hardin in said court at its February Term 1865 to answer an indictment found against Said Hardin in said court for Robbery and have then and there this writ with due return how you have executed it. Given under my hand as clk of said Court this 22nd day of March 1865.
