To His Excelency, Thos E Bramlette Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky
We the undersigned Citizens of Simpson and Logan Counties, would respectfully represent, That heretofore to wit, on the day of [...] 18[...] one B F Johnson of Simpson County Kentucky, was Indicted by the Grandjury of said County for Keeping a Gaming House, and William F. Roger of Logan County became his Security for his appearance at the next ensuing Term of said Simpson Circuit Court, But Said Johnson failed to appear in Satisfaction of said Being which was forfeited a Judgment rendered at the
Now we would respectfully represent further that said W F Roger is a kind herted man and subject to be impressed upon by bad designing men. That he is now an old & crippled man with ten children now with him & of limited means. We would therefore earnestly pray your excelency to remit said fine. Except costs &c Respectfully &c
