Columbus Ky
To his Excellency
Thomas E Bramlette
Governor of Kentucky
Sir
Allow me to present for your consideration the enclosed papers, We had been led to believe that Civil law was once more in force in Kentucky. We wish to learn officially whether such is the fact that we may be prepared to act accordingly I would state that J. J. Waldstein the defendant in this case was fined $10.00 by a Jury of good Men for an assault upon a Small boy, and that he is not in any way connected with the Military Service, at present, tho' he was formerly Sutler to the regiment, which Lt Col Dobozy now commands
We present these papers for such
action as your may deem proper in the premises
I am with high respect
Your Obt Servt
J M Henderson
Mayor of the City of Columbus
