Govenor Bramlette of Kentucky
The undersigned citizens of Hancock County state of Tenessee would respectfully show that one James Gildenwaters who was tried and convicted of Horse stealing in manchester kentucky should be pardoned because he was discovered and found in posession of the Horse alledged to be stolen, said Gildenwaters is a man of good parentage of respectability and would not knowingly had any thing to do with stolen property if known to him, we pray that your Exellency will pardon and send Home to his family the convict James Gildenwaters and your petitioner will ever pray &c
