To His Excellency The Governor of Kentucky
Dr Sir

It is my duty as County Judge of Hardin to call your attention to The Enclosed Letter The Murder was a most foul & aggravated Crime

This is the first definite information I have Received of The Circumstances attending the perpatration of this Most Extraordinary ^murder^ and the Only accurate description of the persons: Supposed to be guilty although it was Committed on the night of 30th Sept 1863. The Case is respectfully submitted to you for your Action.
