Of the November Term of the Richland Circuit Court in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty three
State of Illinois,
Richland County. } SCT

The Grand Jurors, chosen, selected and sworn, in and for the County of Richland in the name and by the authority of the people of the State of Illinois, upon their oaths, present that Arch Means Hugh T Anderson Mary Ann Adams, E T Folwell and Alvy H Inynes late of the county of Richland and State of Illinois, on the tenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty three at and in the county aforesaid, one Thomas M Adams then and there being did then and there feloniously, forcibly, fraudulently and without having Established any claim according to the laws of the United States forcibly steal take away and arrest and bind the said Thomas M Anderson then and there being a white male person did carry without the limits of this State and into another State contrary to the form of the Statute in such case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity of the said people of the State of Illinois.

And the Grand Jurors, aforesaid, chosen, selected and sworn, in and for the said county of Richland aforesaid, in the name and by the authority of the people of the State aforesaid, upon their oaths aforesaid, do further present, that the said Arch Means, Hugh T Anderson, Mary Ann Adams, E T Folwell, and Alvy H. Saynes late of the said county of Richland and State aforesaid on the tenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Sixty three at and in the county aforesaid did steal away one Thomas M Adams feloniously, fraudulently and and forcibly from the county of Richland and State of Illinois the same being his place of Residence and carried him without the State of Illinois without having established a claim according to the laws of the United States and into the limits of another State,

contrary to the form of the Statute, in such case made and provided, and against the peace and dignity of the said people of the State of Illinois.

Richland County Circuit Court November Term 1863, began and held in the court house in Olney in said County & State aforesaid on the 16^th day of November 1863, and on the fourth day of said Term, "The grand Jury returned into open court the following as a true Bill of Indictment
