Dear Sir,
I am Justice of the Peace in the 1st dist (county) in Kenton county and hereby tender my resignation of sd office. I also beg leave to recommend to your excellency for appointment to sd office Lewis Richardson Esqr whom I am satisfied the people of the Dist. desire to fill the Office He was Magistrate under election some years ago and resigned & enlisted in the service of the United States & has served in the military service Some 3 years & 4 months & has been. Honorably discharged He belonged to the 23d Ky Vol Infantry Ky;
