There is a vacancy in the office of Justice of the Peace in this county in district No 6 occasioned by the death of S. V. Goode Esqr. and a large portion of the citizens of this county that district have petitioned me as County Judge to recommend to you Mr A. C. [Brenner] as a suitable person to fill the vacancy — I suppose his appointment would be about as good as could be made & hope you will appoint him
