Stanford Ky
Dear Sir.
I met Mr Boyle at Nicholasville and he requests me to say to you that the East Tenn, expedition is abandoned He was then on his way to Cincinnati to inform Mr Nelson of the fact. I found all those in Garrard who were heretofore engaged in the enterprise fully determined upon immediate abandonment of the progject- this conclusion had been reached by them before my arrival there, doubtlssy Mr B had seen them,
Mr Boyle requests you to endeaver at once to prevent any action upon the part of Tennessee if in your power! That you may assur assure the Tennessee Authorities that no such enterprise is now in Contemplation- I am happy to inform you of the successful termination of this dangerous organization to our peace & safety,
yours Tuly
Gov Magoffin
