You will please go to Cairowithout delay, enquire into the facts connected with the arrest of two of our citizens upon our own soil fr by troops from Cairo, reported to me by D. G. Fowler of Paducah. Lay the matter before Gen Prentiss, protest against the act and obtain if possible the release- Report as soon as may be.
