I George C. Bronaugh clerk of the Hopkins Circuit Court do certify that Joseph Fuquay in whose hands ^was^ one of the enclose Petitions for the purpose of procurring signers personally appeared before me & made oath that each & every name thereto annexed was signed by the persons respectively or by their authority voluntarily given.
I further certify that I am well acquainted with the other gentleman who circulated the remaining Petitions enclosed, to wit: G. W. Bailey, B. S. Reily Geo. LigonJ. M. Compton, Sam C, Woodson & S. H. Morton, & I know them to be men of the first standing in the community, who would have affixed no man's signature without his consent, & I have no doubt they are all genuine: Given under my hand this
