I send you a Petition to remit a fine you gave him a respite of 8 months. the fellow is in a very bad fix. The fine grew out of political feeling any how, he has uniformly voted with us & controlled a few — I wish voters have a the great opposition to him He is nearly blind, can do but little work & his family will suffer if he goes to Jail. I hope you will remit this sum. Talbott has signed the Petition
