Beriah Magoffin Governer of Ky
Your Petitioner Jonathan Jones would respectfully represent that at the pistol Knife for his own nesessary defense and on his way home he carried the pistol Knife but not concealed at any time and the witness Benjamin Hamilton swore the Same,, yet he was fined by the jury the Sum above named, and — the Petitioner now and at the time believed it was done by some mistake that prevailed among jury trying him he says he did not in Kentucky carry sd Pistol Knife Concealed Wherefore he says he was not Guilty of the offense charged he therefore prays I your Excellency to remit the sd fine and for all proper relief
