Bowling Green Ky
Gov Magoffin:
About one year ago or nearly so — S L Kohn of this place ^was^ adjudged by our Eq & Cmil Court to pay $100, as Surety on a bond of one Jno Reester — It was simply a bond to appear & answer a peace warrant of one Jno Perrijer.
It is a hard case & yr Excellency respited the paymt for one year. we now ask Yr Excellency again to remit the Judgmt — as we believe no violence would be done to law or Justice thereby —
Judge Hines Can
explain to you, fully all you may wish to Know about mr Kohn & will tell You we have no doubt that you would subserve a very Kind purpose to remit the Judgmt —
You can refer to mr Kohns previous application in
Very Respectfully
R Rodes
Mr Kohn is an honest & clever man & ought not to pay the above named money
