To his Excellency Beriah Mcgoffin Governer of Kentucky your petitioner prayeth that you consider the following
your petitioner Lewis Riggsby being a poor man and not acquainted with the Laws of Kentucky Did violate the same by retailing distilled Spirits one time the Same having been made by your petioner and taken from his own premises and sold by the advise of the Sheriff of his Lewis Riggsbys own County the offence being brought against him the said Lewis Riggsby acknowledged the offence before the Jury and the fine was set at Ten dollars for the remittance of said fine he asketh and will Ever pray
