With this you will receive a letter from Hon J. M. Bigger and T. H. Corbett I am now and have been acquainted with H C I. Laurence mentioned in the letter of those gentlemen as one of the Surities of H. C. Laurence who was indicted in the Fulton E & C Court for obtaining money under false pretences for thirty years and Know him to be a good citizen and to have been so for that whole time He has Paid the fine of his Son H, C, Laurence but to the Clerk who it Seems was not autherised to receive it but did it and then did not pay it to the comsnr of the Jury fund I, C, Laurence is an industrious honest man
has a large family and an afflicted wife he however has good property but can't well spare the amout of money he is likely to loose in this case The indictement against young Laurence grew out of a Horse trade The charge was that he sold one horse and delivered another
If consistenty with executive duty you can relieve Mr Laurence to any or to the extent in your Power it will be a special favor to him and will meet the approval of about our whole population
