You are commanded to summon John Hammond & William Gaurd to appear before the Boyd Circuit Court at the Court House thereof in the town of Catlettsburg on the 1st day of its next October term to testify in behalf of the plaintiff in a certain action in said Court between the Commonwealth of Ky Plaintiff โ German May Defendant โ See that you make due service and return hereof according law.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky to any sheriff of Boyd Coroner Jailer Constable Marshall or Policeman in this State: You are hereby commanded to summon German May to appear in the Boyd Circuit Court on the 1st day of it next October Term to answer an Indictment for Keeping a Tippling House found against him in that Court

This day came the attorney for the Comw'lth and the defendant failing to appear thereupon came a Jury to-wit โ Eli White. Eli Gard. Wm Gard. W. M. Patton, Thos Sargent, S S McBrayer. T N Pitts, Harvey Kinner Aaron Davis, George M Fuller, J R McBrayer, J N Hensly R C Poage, who after having been elected tried & sworn to well and truly try the issue joined upon their oaths returned the following verdict "Verdict", We the jury find the defendant guilty, It is therefore adjudged by the Court that the defendant make his fine to the Commonwealth of Kentucky by the payment of Sixty Dollars and her Costs herein expended.
