To his Excellency the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky โ
Your petitioners John Goreand John. W. Bingham would respectfully represent to your Excellency that on Samuel Matheneywas fined in the police Court of Harrodsburg the sum of five Dollars & costs, amounting in all to the sum of Nine dollars & 58 cents, and that your petitioners became security upon a Replevin bond for the said Matheney, for the amount of the aforesaid fine โ and costs; and that since the execution of the aforesaid bond said Matheny has left for the southern the Army, and an execution has been issued against your petitioners for the said fine and costs, and is now in the hands of the Marshal, and your petitioners will have to pay the same โ and that they have no funds in their hands belonging to the said Matheney, & that should they discharge said execution, it will be a total loss to your petitioners.
Wherefore your petitioners would pray your Excellency to interpose in their behalf and remit said fine
An as in duty bound your petitioners will ever pray.
