Refer a Justice of the peace of Rowan County Francis Purvis, James Purvis and Hiram Purvis were each fined $3.33 1/2 for a common fight during Christmas holidays. These men are personaly well known to me and known to be more than ordinarily quiet well behaved men. While the sum is very smal yet to these men the sum is sufficiently large to effect them severely I [...] Trust that the Governor will interfere his Executive Clemency and remit these fines.
