To the Govenor of Kentucky
Dr Sir at the June Term of the morgan Circuit Court William Walsh was fined fifty Dollars for giving to my black boy Jake a dram of whisky I on the behalf of the said Walsh ask you Excellency to remit said fine Walsh had lived in my family for several years & had worked with my slaves & he thought no harm & in fact thought it his duty to give the boy a dram as he had done often while he lived with me I hope you will remit said fine as I did not care for his giving the boy a dram
