Mt Sterling March the 7 1861
To His Excellency
Beriah McGoffon
Sir

Thomas B Judy appeared before the Police Judge of Mt Sterling on the 5 ultimo as shown by the recognizance, he gave for his appearance, for an examination of the charge of shooting Thomas Green with the intent to Kill, In said recognizance he gave bail on the penalty of $1000.x/000 for his appearance for an examination of the charge on this day After the Prisoner thus surrendered himself a warrant issued from the officr of the Police Judge directed to the proper Officer chargeing said Prisoner with the offince of murder, the said Thomas Green asIwasinformed having lived only about two hours after he was shot, and while said Judy was in the custody of the sheriff, he made his elopement, and this morning the time having arrived for his trial according to the time set in warrant, failed to appear. He has never had a trial before the examining court &c Given under my hand as presiding Judge of the Montgomery County Court. this the 7 day of March 1861
