To His Excellency the Governor of Kentucky:
WE the undersigned, citizens of Harrison County, protest against the Governor of the State calling a Convention, for the following reasons:
First: Because the Legislature is alone authorized by the Constitution to call a Convention, and the Governor has no power to do so; that a Convention which would be called by him would be illegal, ^&^ revolutionary, and the principle if acquiesced in, will inevitably lead to anarchy and the destruction of Constitutional Liberty.
Second: It will unnecessarily lead to additional taxation.
