His Excellency Gov. Robinson

At the June term 1862 of the Madison Circuit Court a fine of $25. was imposed on Sydney Whitaker by the verdict of a jury on a Commonwealths indictment for an assault. Mr Whitaker is very poor, is a soldier in the 11th Ky Cavalry of the true Union grit, and thinks he was unjustly convicted. An Execution is now out against him for the fine and costs. He would be very grateful to your excellency to have his fine remitted, & I hope it will be done.
