To Hon James F Robinson Govenor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky

Your Petitioner Ranson Lazwel states that at the August term 1863 of the Rockcastle Circuit Court. He was fined Twenty Dollars ($20,) for Gambling- which occured through the distracted state of the Country. Our county being over run by Rebels, Your Petitioner states that He is a very poor man, and a strictly Loyal one- that he is uncompromising- and unconditional Union man — That this is his first offence of the Kind that He ever committed, and will make it the last- He asks your Honor to remit his fine and in so doing you will confer lasting favors upon him and in duty bound he will ever pray

We undersiged citizens of Rockcastle County state that we are acquainted with Mr Lazwell and think He deserves Executive clemency- and believe the statement in the above Petition to be true
