Franklington Henry County Ky.
To his Excellency Jas F. Roberson. Gov. of Ky. and Gen. Finnell A. G.
The undersigned would most respectfully represent to you — that Michael Rayzor a private in the 13th Ky. Vol. now stationed at Glasgo Ky. has been permitted by you to assist in raising a company in a new Regiment, which Reg. has failed to organise — said appointment was that of Lieutenant — we understand that the officers of his Regiment are willing to let him off by your consent — The only question we presume is, as to his ability prudence and firmness — We beg leave to state to you a few facts in relation to this young man —
We have known M. Rayzor from his youth up. he ^was^ raised an honest hardworking boy of ordinary education. stout. hearty and robust At the commencement of the Rebellion he took a decided stand for the Union, fell into the ranks of the first company of Home Guards raised in his neighbourhood — was always propt and resolute — He has been in his present Regiment about two years — He is a soldier every inch of him and as brave as ceazar — He is a man that may be relied upon with the utmost confidence — and only desires an opportunity to show what what he can do for his country —
We hope therefore you will permit him to make an effort —.
