Dear, Sir:
I have seen Dr. Pinkerton he is perfectly unwell so much so as to be entirely unable to follow the Regt.You shall have the appointment. You can join the Regt. immediately at Nashville Dr. Rodgers, is sick, at home leaving the Regt at this time totaly without a Physician
If you decline the appointment to this position you will inform me immediately so that I can procure another
