Lincoln County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of William Henderson Bell and Catharine R. Hawkins Bell. Married to Mary E. Carpenter Bell in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, on April 4, 1861. Father of William H. Bell. Farmer in Hustonville, Kentucky, in 1860. Household owned twelve enslaved persons in Hustonville in 1860. Served in the 19th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as private, corporal, and sergeant from January 2, 1862, to June 26, 1865.
