Charles W. Quiggins (Hardin County, KY, carpenter and soldier)

Hardin County, Kentucky, carpenter and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of John Quiggins and Phebe Quiggins. Resident in Hardin County in 1850. Carpenter in Hardin County in 1860. Served in the 9th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) as first lieutenant from August 22, 1862, to September 11, 1863. Promoted to colonel of the 49th Kentucky Militia in June 1864. Served in the Capital Guard Regiment of the Kentucky State Militia as captain and major from June 7, 1864, to May 19, 1865.
