Kentucky soldier. Louisiana native. Served in the 1st Kentucky Light Artillery (U.S.A.) as captain from September 9, 1861, to March 15, 1863. Served in the 5th United States Colored Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) from August 9, 1864, to March 16, 1866. Reported as prisoner of war from December 1864 to March 1865.
