Casey County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Valentine Peyton and Polly Portman Peyton. Second lieutenant and first lieutenant in the 1st Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry Regiment (U.S.A.) from November 1, 1861, to December 31, 1864.
