Washington County, Kentucky, soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Francis Rigdon and Rosannah Rigdon. Resident of Washington County, Kentucky, in 1850. Resident of Washington County in 1860. Served in the 11th Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry (U.S.A.) as a private from September 22, 1862, to July 11, 1865. Captured at Loudon County, Tennessee, on October 20, 1863. Escaped from military prison at Charleston, South Carolina, in December 1864.
