Father of Ann Williams, Rufus Williams, Jr., Mary Williams, Martha Williams, Augusta Williams, Emma Williams, Kemble Williams, Emily Williams, Harriet Williams, and Maggie Williams. Delegate to the 1860 Democratic National Convention backing John C. Breckinridge. Circuit court judge of the 1st Judicial District of Kentucky from 1860 to 1862. Delegate to the 1861 Border State Convention. Judge of the Kentucky Court of Appeals from 1862 to 1870. Chief justice of the Kentucky Court of Appeals from 1868 to 1870.
