Warsaw,
Governor Bramlette:
Herewith I enclose a letter from Wm. Sams, of Carrollton, Kentucky, informing me that he has learned where Alexander Burke now is in Indiana.
You wil remember that Burke recently escaped from the Franklin County Jail, where he was confined for murder — the murder of his own father-in-law, under the most aggrevated circumstances. You have heretofore offered a reward of $200. for the apprehension of Burke, which reward is still pending.
I will thank you to make your requisition upon the Governor of Indiana for the apprehension of Buke: and at the same time to appoint Wm. Sams, of Carrollton, agent on the part of Kentucky. Mr. Sams says he can find Burke at once.
Please hand the requisition to Mr. Venable, and he will forward it to Sams, at Carrollton.
Very Respectfully,
John L. Scott.
Com. atty.
Gov. Bramlette.
