Covington.
To His Excellency Gov. Robinson
I am acquainted with the persons who have signed the petition for the pardon of Lafayette Brafford stating themselves to have been jurors in the case. They are good citizens and entited to credence.
The citizens who have signed the other petition are also men of standing and good repute.
I know nothing about the case.
Very respectfully
M. M. Benton
