Bowling Green, Kentucky, attorney. Madison County, Kentucky, native. Graduate of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, in 1843. Married to Mary Frances Grider Rodes in 1849. Father of Henry Clifton Rodes, William Owsley Rodes, Rachel Rodes, and Sally Rodes. Owned three enslaved persons in Warren County in 1850. Elected to the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1853 to 1855. Attorney in Bowling Green in 1860. Attorney in Bowling Green in 1864.
