Graduated from the Law Department of the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, in 1849. Partner with William S. Pryor in the law firm Pryor & Drane in Henry County in 1849. Resident of Henry County in 1850. Attorney in Henry County in 1860. Circuit judge of the Eighth Kentucky Judicial District from 1862 to 1868.
