Graves County, Kentucky, farmer and soldier. Kentucky native. Son of Gabriel Gregory and Jane McGothy Gregory. Farmer in Graves County, Kentucky, in 1860. With his brother, John Franklin "Frank" Gregory, he engaged in counter-guerrilla activities in western Kentucky in 1861. Served in the 20th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry Regiment (U.S.A.) as first lieutenant from January 6, 1862, to February 5, 1862. Farmer in Graves County in 1863. Served in the 1st Regiment Capital Guards, Paducah Battalion, as captain from June 24, 1864, to February 12, 1865. Served as captain of a guerrilla hunting unit in March 1865. Killed by guerrillas in Hickman County, Kentucky, in March 1865.
