Farmer in Morrow County, Ohio in 1850. Attended school in Morrow County, Ohio in 1850. Attended school in Posey County, Indiana, in 1860. Admitted to the bar in September 1861. Attorney in Vanderburgh County in 1861 through 1865. Prosecuting attorney in Vanderburgh County from May 21, 1863, to November 12, 1864. Notary public in Vanderburgh County in 1865.
