Your Petitioner Thomas Sanders States that at the May Term 1864 of the Owen Circuit Court The Commonwealth of Kentucky obtained Judgment against him for the ~~fine~~sum of $200 ⁰⁰ fine for permitting gaming on his premises occupied by him in said County

Your petitioner states that he is a very poor man and has a large family entirely dependent on his daily labor for a support: that it will be impossible for him to raise the money to pay said fine and if arrested and imprisoned his family must suffer for food and raiment.

He therefore prays your Excellency to remit said fine and he will ever pray &c
