I have the pleasure of recommending Capt [Fr. de Tavernier], to you as for commission as A. D. C. with rank as Col. Whilst I had the responsibilities of a Brigade on my hands, ^the^ Capt D was A. A. A. G. and always discharged his duties with promptness and fidelity. He is now about to return to ~~his~~ "theoldcountry," and as a compliment to him for his services (although not appointed from this state) in ~~Suppression~~ assisting in the suppression of this unholy rebellion, I suggest him for the position.
