Please find enclosed herewith S. R. Nunns's letter 11^th Inst. It speaks for its self as to the condition of things in Crittenden County.

I have ordered a special term of the Court to convene in Marion on 4^th Monday in January for the trial of Criminal [...] and Chancery causes and have directed the sheriff to execute all proofs as speedily as possible; and think it important that Capt Dowell should have this company or organised as soon as it can be done. Be good enough to see the Governor and request him to write to the Capt. and give him such information and instruction as he desires on the subject mentioned by him or stated in M^r Nunns letter, and endevour to have the organisation effected in the shortest time practicable. Please let me hear from you at this place at your earliest connnvenience.
