The undersigned would respectfully represent that the repeated & constant depredations upon the property of citizens in this vicinity & upon this time by Soldiers unrestrained by officers; renders protection indesposeble to life, liberty, & property, our property are seized & taken by men with arms in their hands — Every bushel of Corn — Every hog our fences & out houses burned & ourselves insulted & cursed for damned Rebles if we dare to complain We aske for protection we aske it because we are entitled to it & we ask if it can be granted that Kentucky ~~men~~ — State Gards, be charge with the Duty say the 49^th as we know the officers & men This is our humble & sincere prayer to send us protection in such a Ky Regt as the 49 Kentucky
