At the September term of of the Henry Circuit Court A fine of Forty Dollars was assessed against Virginia Payne for permitting her Slave Tom to hire his time. The proof in the case was that she had hired the Bman to her nephew T. J. Owens from the 1^st March 1862 to the March 1863 and had not been Allowed to hire his own time, Your petitioners pray that the fine may be remitted
