To his Excellency Gov Bramlette.

The undersigned citizens, ~~ofa~~ Garrard County & many of us neighbors of the family of Jacob Wearren and would respectfully represent that at the March term 1854 of the Madison Circut Court an Indictment for Tippling was found or Jacob Wearren, and at the Sept term of said Court there was a verdict & Judgmt for $60 fine and $10.80 cost of action- That shortly thereafter he removed to this county where he continued to reside up to the time of his death, which occurred on the [ ] day of February 1863 -- That he left a widow & four children. The eldest of whom is not exceeding 12 years of age and is a girl, that he left some little property, but not a sufficiency to support his helpless family and educate his children as it should be done -- That since his death execution has issued on s^d Judgt ^to wit 28^th September 1863^ returnable 2^nd Monday in October (To the Madison Circuit Court) & is now in the hands of the Sheriff of Garrard County for collection- Now the [premises] considered, we respectfully Petition Your Excellency
to remit said fine or so much thereof as the case warrants. ThecasewellmeritstheclemencyoftheExecutive.
